Funding doubled for Schoolies shuttles

The State Government has committed an extra $50,000 on a one-off basis towards the cost of running a shuttle bus service between Victor Harbor and Goolwa during this year's annual Encounter Youth Schoolies Festival.

Road Safety Minister, Jack Snelling said the additional $50,000 will solve the shortfall this year and allow Encounter Youth to properly prepare and plan their financial commitments for the Festival in 2011.

$100m to upgrade highways to Victoria

Premier Mike Rann says work will begin later this month on a $100 million program to upgrade the highways linking Adelaide to Victoria and improve a range of road safety measures.

Mr Rann said the works on the Freeway will complement the significant work already underway to install four new rest areas and upgrade a further 11 rest areas between Adelaide and Bordertown.

Water restrictions to be lifted 1st December

South Australia's current Level 3 enhanced water restrictions will end at the start of summer and permanent water conservation measures will be maintained following good inflows into Adelaide Hills storages.

Minister for Water Paul Caica made the announcement saying that from December 1 the State will move to updated permanent water conservation measures which will provide mains water users with greater flexibility.
